Ryder Cup 1991 driver and sand wedge first ever made with Aircraft grade shafts

boxed unused Commemorative Ryder Cup 1991 driver and sand wedge limited edition. 

Never been used and kept in the box with both clubs and the cloth cover. The box too is in great condition.

SAND WEDGE.. 17-4 Stainless steel, 55% loft 65% lie, cavity perpihially related, Shaft Aerospace grade high modulus and high strength Graphite. Low/mid flex 2.8% Torque, Regular flex 70 grams. Grips Real wrapped hide with Ryder cup logo.

DRIVER... 17-4 Stainless steel, 11% Loft, Perimiter weighted, Shaft Aerospace grade high modulus and high strength Graphite. Low/mid flex 3% Torque, Regular flex 75 grams. Grips Real wrapped hide with Ryder cup logo.

These are NOT just show clubs these are a top notch pair of clubs with the heads are made from 17-4 stainless steel and the shafts are made from Aerospace grade high modulous Graphite.

Theres a certificate, A letter from the makers to the buyer with info about the clubs etc, a photograph of the 2 captains of the ryder cup and a letter from the presidents office thanking the clubs suppliers for sending him a set.

This actual set is the first of  ever made before they made the others as collectors items. The first 50 sets were made for heads of state.

Others who recieved one of the first 6 sets before they started the series of 1000 include George Bush, HRH Prince Andrew, Lord Mac Farlane (Johnnie walkers whisky chairman) Ryder cup captains Dave Stockton (Europe) and Bernard Gallacher (USA) This actual set was given to the Royal variety club of Great Britain and was donated by them to a Peter Wainwright for his massive donation to them in July 1991.

Basically they made a numbered amount of these i believe 1 to 1000 this set was not part of this they were made un-numbered as presents for the above people. Provenance is in the letters. Ive found it difficult to price these due to there only been the 6 of this set but i feel i would say none of the other 5 will ever come up for sale this will be the only set out there of the 6.
