Baume & Mercier Ladies Art Deco 18k white gold and Diamond watch 1953 working
£380.00
vintage baume et mercier Ladies Art Deco 18k white gold and Diamond watch 1953. We believe this to be the BAUME ET MERCIER Haute Fantasie Hand-wound. Circa 1950 from the code on it which matches the Guarantee date wich comes with the watch.
This is a lovely little watch and been deco fits in with todays wearers. It belonged to My Auntie who sadly passed a way a couple of years ago.
The watch case is 18k white gold with 6 Diamonds and a leather strap. The Diamonds are around .25 carat so not of great value but all nice stones. The case has a hammer shaped mark inside which is the Case makers mark and matches to Arnold Montadon
The back weighs 3.8G so we are assuming the front case weighs about the same if you took the diamonds and the glass out of them which we wont be doing so have guessed the weight overall to be around 7.5G Total so at £35 a gram it weighs in at around £262.00 approx.
Comes with original guarantee from 1953.

I have given it a quick clean and there is a scratch on the beveled glass that is noticeable and makes the watch face look damaged but its the scratch on the glass not on the Face of the watch. I personally would try and get it ground out or replaced and would also go for a service at the same time. The case has scratches from use over the years but you really cant see them hardly unless you use a magnifying glass.
